Patients Want to Have More than One Procedure at Once

More and more surgeons are hearing from their patients that they want to be able to have multiple procedures done at the same time. Because the cost might be lower, and because the recovery time could all be lumped into a few weeks (or a few months, depending on the surgery), today’s busy patients are making the request. But is this practice safe?

Most plastic surgeons say yes. Depending on the procedures that each patient wants to have done, they may be combined. For example, the “mommy makeover,” which has been growing exponentially in popularity, combines a tummy tuck with a breast augmentation or lift, so that new mothers can get back to the body that they had before their pregnancy. Also, certain facelift procedures can be combined. For example, an eyelift and a neck lift can be done at the same time.
