A partial face lift is an option that is typically suggested when an individual has signs of aging in one part of the face but may not require any tightening or work in the other areas. A partial face lift is sometimes referred to as a mini face lift or a lower or mid face lift. A partial face lift typically focuses in on only one area of the face but may be combined with other types of cosmetic surgery procedures. For example, a brow lift may be combined with an eyelid surgery to fully redefine the area around the eyes. In cases where two or more procedures are going to be completed the patient and surgeon will need to determine if a full face lift may be a better option to achieve the desired results. The major benefit to a partial face lift over a full face lift is the recovery time is shorter and there are fewer risks of complications. In addition the swelling and bruising often associated with a full face lift is not typically seen in a partial face lift procedure.
